Caption Generator

A caption is the text under the image or reel. It has to name the offer before the “more” cut. Instagram is long in theory. People still stop after two lines.

The tool

Use this after the visual is chosen. Write the first two lines as if the rest will not be tapped.

Why it helps

Why you need a Caption Generator

Instagram allows about 2,200 characters. The useful part is the first two lines on a phone. Put the offer there.

A caption is not a hashtag dump. Tags can sit at the end. The first line still needs a verb.

Facebook and Instagram share a caption box in some tools. Check length once. Then post.

HOOK, BODY, NEXT STEPHOOK, BODY, NEXT STEPHookwhy pauseBodythe offerCTAthe URLWrite for the box you will paste into. LinkedIn is not X.Use the same utm_campaign as the ads, with the right source.
A vibe with no link is a scroll.

When

When to use it

  • You have the image or reel and no text.
  • When the last caption was only emojis and a link in bio.
  • When you are turning a LinkedIn post into an Instagram caption and it is too long at the top.

How

How to use it

  1. 1Write line one: who it is for and the offer.
  2. 2Write line two: the next step (link in bio, or the URL if the platform shows it).
  3. 3Add one proof line if you still have room.
  4. 4Count characters. Move hashtags to the end. Do not lead with them.

Example

Example: Instagram caption for the demo reel

Acme reel shows the UTM builder. Offer is the 30-minute demo. Bio link already tagged google-in-demo-exact-2026q3.

You put in

Platform
instagram
Offer
book a 30-minute product demo
Proof
one campaign name in ads and GA4
CTA
link in bio

You get

Book a 30-minute Acme demo. Free to browse.
See one campaign name in Google Ads, the UTM, and Monday’s sheet.
Link in bio.

#productdemo #utm #googleads

The first two lines work if nobody taps “more.” Hashtags are last and few. If the first line had been “New reel from the Acme team,” the offer would sit below the cut.

Result

What this changes for you

The caption matches the post and the landing page. You stop burying the demo under a paragraph of brand story.

Common mistakes

  • Leading with eight hashtags. The offer never shows.
  • “Link in bio” with a bio that points at the homepage.
  • Pasting a 400-word blog intro. Cut it. The reel already showed the product.
  • A different promise than the landing page. Caption says free. Page asks for a card.

FAQ

Caption Generator FAQ

What is a caption generator for?

It drafts the text under an Instagram or Facebook post. You get a first line with the offer, a next step, and a length check.

How long should an Instagram caption generator output be?

Long enough to name the offer and the next step. Put that in the first two lines. Extra context can sit after. 2,200 is a ceiling, not a target.

Should a caption generator include hashtags?

A few at the end is fine. Do not start the caption with tags. Use the hashtag strategy tool if you need a set.

Can I use a caption generator for LinkedIn?

You can reuse the offer. LinkedIn usually wants a stronger first line and fewer hashtags. Prefer the social post generator for LinkedIn.
