Google Ads character limits for RSA headlines and descriptions
Google Responsive Search Ads allow headlines up to 30 characters and descriptions up to 90 characters. The interface will still let you type more in some views. The live ad will cut it. That is wasted pins and wasted tests.
Count spaces and punctuation. A headline that looks fine in a doc can fail in the ad editor because of an extra dash. Check length before you argue about which benefit to lead with.
Write more headlines than you pin. Variety (benefit, proof, keyword, CTA) beats three near-duplicates that all hit 30 characters. Descriptions should finish the sentence the headline started, not repeat it.
Meta ads have different limits for primary text, headline and description. Do not reuse a Google 30-character line as Meta primary text and expect it to carry the offer.
