Conversion Rate Calculator

Conversion rate is conversions divided by visitors (or clicks). Use the same dates and the same campaign. A rate without those two is a guess.

The tool

Try it here

Use this when you have a count of conversions and a count of visitors or clicks. Name the conversion: demo booked, not “all events.”

Same dates, same campaign

Conversion rate

Why it helps

Why you need a Conversion Rate Calculator

Rate = conversions ÷ visitors. If you mix sessions and users, the number will not match last week.

Paid and organic should not share one blended rate when you are deciding bids. Split by campaign name.

A 2% rate on a demo form is not comparable to a 20% rate on a newsletter popup. Name the action.

RATE = OUTCOMES ÷ OPPORTUNITIESRATE = OUTCOMES ÷ OPPORTUNITIESConversions25Visitors1,250Rate2.00%Same window, same campaign, same definition of conversion.Do not mix sessions and users in one fraction.
A rate without a name (“demo booked”) is a slide, not a decision.

When

When to use it

  • Weekly review for google-in-demo-exact-2026q3.
  • When CPC fell and CPA rose - check whether conversion rate dropped.
  • Before an A/B test, so you know the baseline.

How

How to use it

  1. 1Enter conversions and visitors or clicks for the same window.
  2. 2Conversion rate = conversions ÷ that denominator × 100 for a percent.
  3. 3Write the conversion name next to the percent in the sheet.
  4. 4Take spend into the CPA calculator if you have it.

Example

Example: demo page, one week

google-in-demo-exact-2026q3. Window 7 days. Conversion = demo booked. Use landing visitors, not the whole site.

You put in

Conversions
25 demo booked
Visitors
1,250
Spend
₹50,000

You get

Conversion rate = 25 / 1250 = 2%
CPA = 50000 / 25 = ₹2,000 (from the CPA tool)

2% is the page rate for that campaign week. If last week was 3% at the same offer, look at the page and the query mix before you raise bids. Do not average this with the blog’s newsletter rate.

Result

What this changes for you

CPA (spend ÷ conversions) makes sense next to the rate. You see whether a CPC change actually moved the page.

Common mistakes

  • Site-wide conversion rate as the paid KPI.
  • Counting page views as conversions.
  • Different date ranges for conversions and visitors.
  • Calling the rate “good” from a blog benchmark. Use your own baseline.

FAQ

Conversion Rate Calculator FAQ

How does a conversion rate calculator work?

Conversion rate = conversions ÷ visitors (or clicks). 25 / 1,250 = 2%. Same dates, same campaign, same conversion name.

Should a conversion rate calculator use clicks or visitors?

Use clicks when you are judging the ad-to-page path. Use landing-page visitors when you are judging the page. Do not mix them in one cell.

What is a good result from a conversion rate calculator?

The rate that beats your own baseline for that offer. A “good CR” from another industry is not your demo form.

How is a conversion rate calculator different from CPA?

Conversion rate is a ratio of actions to traffic. CPA is spend ÷ conversions. You need both: a cheap CPC with a dead rate still loses.
